lifeofayouthpastor.com is a snapshot of my life as a youth pastor, husband to Calla Grace Parker, and one who understands that this life is NOT MY OWN (1Cor.6:19) I have been adopted by God and am experiencing LIFE TO THE FULLEST through His son Jesus Christ. (John 10:10) I hope to provide other youth pastors, leaders, volunteers, parents and students an open door to my life as it revolves around youth ministry, my family and the adventures of life to the fullest!
Born: February 13th, 1987 – Austin, Texas
Current Location: Austin, Texas
Current Ministry Position: Student Ministry Pastor at Gateway Church
Education: Moody Bible Institute – B.A. Evangelism/Discipleship & Biblical Studies
Missions Experience: I could list dozens of stateside and international “mission trips” but strongly believe that your greatest mission is to love your neighbor as yourself. One of my favorite mission experiences was when my wife and I invited our whole street over for roasting s’mores in our backyard. Slowly but surely everyone showed up! The night ended with us having a conversation with a neighbor about who Jesus is and why the Bible is historically accurate! I believe the church could expand significantly if we all lived with the mindset that our everyday life IS our mission field…not necessarily a one week trip during the year.
Hobbies: BBQ, photography, fishing, hunting, sailing, camping, climbing, motorcycling, reading and writing about student ministry!
Random Stuff: I grew up mowing grass in the summer and sweeping chimneys in the winter…weird, I know. I love smoking baby back ribs on the Weber! I love racing sailboats on Lake Travis with my dad. I was in the Cedar Park High School Marching Band, we won state (it’s a big deal in the state of TX) I have the desire to get a tattoo but probably never will, I’m too artistically picky and have a fear I will grow out of it. I also have a side gig as a photographer – weddings, engagements, senior pictures, family photos. www.myparkerphotography.com
I have a beard.
