We youth pastors can be guilty of spending too much time on the internet all with good intent… browsing, spiraling, ending up watching too many videos of cats. Your intentions are good and you are just trying to find a game for this coming weekend or hit a writer’s block so you hopped on facebook. When it comes to youth ministry related topics wether it be games, curriculum, or ideas, these are a few of my favorites that should help you at least stay focused on youth ministry.
DYM – Download Youth Ministry has been put together by some of the most experienced and networked youth workers. Doug Fields and Josh Griffin have created an online community and store where you can find almost anything you need related to youth ministry.
UTHMIN – Primarily for MS pastors, this blog and gathering is headed up by Tom Shefchunas. Tom is the lead for MS ministry at NorthPoint, he is one smart, humble, and seasoned dude. I have learned so much from him.
STUFF YOU CAN USE – Kenny and Elle are awesome, they have some really cool stuff you can use for games, curriculum, books to read, and the list goes on and on and on. I like using stuff and ideas from people I know…I don’t really know them but I’ve met them and they are cool people.
ORANGE LEADERS – These blogs are composed by a diverse crowd of leaders and pastors around the country. They speak from experience on a variety of subjects. You are sure to find something that is relative to your current situation.
YOUTH SPECIALTIES – I mostly follow them on twitter and dabble in the blog, but interestingly enough they have a job bank. If you are looking for a job in youth ministry check it out!
YM ANSWERS – A podcast that answers the questions many youth pastors are asking, plug in the headphones while you work or listen on the commute, you are sure to get something out of it.
I like The Youth Culture Report its a great daily news resource for parents and youth workers. http://theyouthculturereport.com/
